Episode 15 features Sarah Dandashythe creator of AskAConcierge.TV, and the star of a popular web series of the same moniker where she brings you travel tips and insider secrets from her experiences as an award winning concierge of one of the finest hotels in Los Angeles.  I met Sarah through The School of Greatness Academy that our friend Lewis Howes created.  Sarah and I are both located in Los Angeles and whenever I would meet a fellow SOGA member through the group, I would always try to set up a face to face meeting to get to know them.  Sarah and I met for coffee and our friendship was instant.  You’ll quickly see why she’s become one of my favorite people to spend time with.  In this episode, you will learn how to navigate through life and business, about the right kinds of people to spend your time with, how to be uber-productive, and how focusing on what you can control is the most important action step you can take today to get closer to achieving your dreams.

Sarah Quotes:

“Make yourself relevant.”

“Always be creating. If you look at life as a creator, you’re being pro-active.”

“I like the Golden Rule.”

“Eat, sleep, and workout. And do it well.”

“When I look back on my life and everything that I’ve ever kind of done…I ask and I tried to glean as much information  from others but I’m also like — okay,  just roll up the sleeves and dive in — and I’ve never really been afraid of failure. You fail at one little thing and move on,  it’s not permanent.”

“Once you find your purpose, once you find that you don’t have any questions.  The path is clear because you know what your purpose is.”

“Sometimes we get stuck in the day-to-day.  And then you stop yourself because that can spiral…take a moment to appreciate all the work that you have done, it is really gratifying– but you have to take that moment to really pat yourself on the back.

“…it reminds me of this quote that my acting coach told me and it was applying to how we would tackle a scene.  He would always say drive in traffic. meaning that you speed up at some point you’re going to slow down you have like a natural Rhythm to the scene that we’re doing.  But that phrase Drive in traffic also applies to life and how you tackle business so I think about that.  So often we’re going a hundred miles an hour, but you can’t do that forever.  So sometimes you might have to pull over and you might have to fuel up.  Or for a little time you have to go a little slower and then you have a time where you get to speed up again.  Driving in traffic really applies to life and to business and it lets you know that whatever pace you’re going today is okay because tomorrow is a new day and maybe you’ll go a little bit faster, maybe you’ll go slower.  It allows you that range to be human.”

“There’s also something about working out with a friend,  you strip all your layers.  It’s not pretentious you’re not wearing makeup, you’re wearing workout clothes you get sweaty but that’s how I think you really find and bond with people in a very real grounded way.”

“I have no time for nonsense.  I want to surround myself with like-minded individuals, and they can be in various fields, but people that want to do good and grow.”

“Take time for yourself.  Put your phone in the other room, just have that silent moment and be okay, you having that alone time is really important to recharging yourself.”

“Focus on what you can control, in the sense that there’s so much that we can’t control in life.  We can’t control other people, we can’t control whether we get that job promotion, we can’t control whether it’s going to rain.  But if you figure out what you can control and what you can change, you can do that starting today.”
